Cad é an scéal?
What’s the Story?
Nathan, Steven & I (Casey) ((We all have our strengths, it was deemed that writing copy is one of mine lol)) met 10 years ago when we started a band together.
Throughout the last 8 years we’ve all gone in our own directions, before coming together once again early this year to start What’s The Scéal - A content agency focused on social strategy for businesses and artists.
I (Casey again) started a construction business in 2018 and grew it to a multi-million dollar (yes I’m a yank) valuation in just under 7 years. I learned what life is like as a young, creative entrepreneur fairly quickly and embraced every up / down / sideways experience that that lifestyle brought along. I’ve built a brand and culture that is entirely based on valuing people, community and interpersonal relationships - because I believe this to be the foundation of a fulfilling and enjoyable life. Those who work within any business that I’m a part of earn partial ownership and immediately become partners - the employee era is over. I’m proud to say that within the last short few years of building that business, we now have two partners that started from entry level positions who now own a collective 20% of the company and our brand continues to grow, adapt, and provide a valuable service to our community, all because of the people within it and the culture they continue to create.
Nathan hopped on a plane with his then fiancé (now wife) Natali and moved to Bali where he began his travel vlogging / filmmaking career. In between then and now, Nathan has worked with some of the biggest names in the Universal UK music group (and beyond) - he toured as Cian Ducrot’s head of social strategy for years. He filmed, edited, and collaborated to create viral social campaigns that changed the trajectory of Cian’s career. He has also shot with loads of other big artists (Hi Sugarbabes!) and for major brands such as Amazon, Sky Broadband, EasyJet (just to name a few). He has a little Yorkshire terrier named Danté, who, along with his wife Natali, are his entire life.
Steve continued on with music for the years after, and continues to play. He found a passion for adventure and wildlife filmmaking after giving professional music a break. He is a relentless creator, constantly challenging himself and others to live a life unbound by the tethers of fear and doubt. A few years ago, Steve founded an adventure group focused on mental health awareness and improvement, called “The Trekking Tribe”. The Tribe hikes regularly, all around Ireland, and incorporates breath work, yoga, and other spiritual and mental health practices to help people calm their nervous systems and connect with nature, others, and most importantly - themselves. Steve also regularly shoots all around the coast of Ireland, following and aiding researchers in documenting the movements, habits, and behaviours of Ireland’s marine wildlife. He has been reached out to by Discovery, Nat Geo, multiple marine science groups, and many others asking to utilise his footage for documentary and research purposes.
